The Grand Feast is a pretty simple farming event, and this guide covers all of it, plus a trick for extra Overbloom. It's an important event: Asxent thinks it's the only reason the farming nerfs were justified at all.
The Grand Feast is a mayor perk exclusive to Finnegan. To understand it, start with the event it builds on: the Harvest Feast.
The Harvest Feast
The Harvest Feast happens every SkyBlock year and lasts 3 months. During it, 4 random crops are "in season", and they have a chance to drop rare crops and seasoning.
| Drop | Dropped by | Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Rare crop | Breaking crops (each crop has its own rare crop) | 1 in 18,000 |
| Rare crop | Pests (each pest has a matching crop) | 15% |
| Seasoning | Breaking crops only, not pests | 1 in 2,250 |
- Seasoning isn't a physical item. It just shows up in chat and gets donated into a communal stew pot, which you can see in the Hub.
- Seasoning milestones: get enough seasoning drops and you reach milestones, which reward Feast Flasks. These make the Celestial Mason Jar, a mixin for God Potions.
How the Grand Feast is different
Think of the Harvest Feast, but way better:
- Instead of 3 months per SkyBlock year, it lasts the entire election, and the in-season crops cycle about every 10 hours.
- Along with rare crops and seasoning, there's a new reward: kernels. You get 1 kernel for every seasoning, plus more from the seasoning milestones.
Spending kernels at Scott
Kernels buy very useful items from Scott that are exclusive to the Grand Feast:
- Feast books, which you apply to a tool for more Overbloom.
- An accessory line that gives more Overbloom, doubled during a feast.
- Two contacts:
- Scott's gives you a discount at Scott's shop.
- Chef Teddy's tells you which crop has a 10% higher chance of dropping seasoning. You can't just ask a friend which one it is: like SkyMall, you need the contact yourself.
The Deep Fried reforge
The Deep Fried tool reforge gives 25% extra seasoning chance. Asxent recommends using it.
Overbloom
Besides that, the only thing that affects the drop rates is Overbloom. If you're farming during a feast, focus hard on it. Work out which of these sources you can get, then follow the money advice below.
Pets
| Budget | Killing pests | Breaking crops | Spawning pests |
|---|---|---|---|
| On a budget | Hedgehog | Mantis | Slug |
| More money | Rose Dragon | Rose Dragon | Mosquito |
- Run Poignant Lucky Clover on most of your pets, except the one you use to spawn pests.
- The Mosquito is particularly important: it strengthens your vinyl, so you get more of the pest you want.
Other Overbloom sources
| Source | Overbloom |
|---|---|
| Rarefinder chip, maxed | 50 |
| Sunset V on all your armor pieces, during the day | 20 |
| Feast V on your tool | 10 |
| Beetle attribute | 10, overall |
| Field Mouse shard | 5, for pests |
| Freshly Baked Heirloom | 5, doubled during a feast |
| Feast Burgers | Up to 5, permanently |
| Finn's Focaccia | 5, for an entire Grand Feast |
| Thorny reforge on equipment | 1.25 at Legendary, 1.5 at Mythic |
| Thorny's reforge bonus | 0.1 per tier of Thorns on all your armor pieces |
To get the most from Thorny, put Thorns IV on all your armor pieces.
Making the most money
- Don't waste anything. Sell everything.
- Skip the accessory line. From what Asxent has seen, the contacts make the most.
- Don't hold on to drops. Prices generally drop after a few Grand Feasts, so don't keep anything unless you're on Ironman.
Extra Overbloom with island time
When you're going for Fireflies, use Skyblocker's shortcuts (/skyblocker shortcuts) to bind something to /islandtime, and set it to day once the pests spawn. The video shows a short demonstration.
Lock in: Asxent made around 1.5 billion coins from the last Grand Feast.
