Accessories Guide: Magical Power, Powers and Tuning

How accessories and Magical Power work, where to find them, how to get more bag slots, and how to use powers, tuning points, recombobulators and enrichments.

Updated Verified by Asxent6 min readbeginner

Accessories give you permanent passive stats, and building them up is what lets you finally start pushing the combat side of the game. This guide covers how they work, where to get them and how to get the most out of them.

Tip

Asxent keeps a much more complete accessory checklist in the Discord, plus a /missing command. Having something you can check off is far more useful than a list of 100 accessory names.

How accessories work

  • Accessories are items that give passive stats and abilities. There are so many of them that the accessory bag exists to hold them while you keep their buffs.
  • Magical Power (MP): accessories in the bag give MP. The higher an accessory's rarity, the more MP it gives.
  • Powers: the more MP you have, the bigger the buff from your selected power, a stat profile you choose. Some powers are free; others unlock when you hand in 9 of their power stone.
  • Tuning points: every 10 MP gives you 1 tuning point, which you can put toward slightly buffing a stat.
  • SkyBlock XP: you get 1 SkyBlock XP per MP.

As long as the accessories stay in your bag, these are all permanent passive buffs.

Upgrade lines

Many accessories come in upgrade lines. For example, the Feather Talisman upgrades into the Feather Ring, and eventually the Feather Artifact.

  • If you own several accessories from the same line, only the highest tier gives MP, so there's no reason to fill your bag with every version.
  • Duplicates don't give extra MP either.

Getting accessories

Accessories come from basically every part of the game: some are crafted through collections, some are bought from NPCs or the Auction House, some come from Slayer, Dungeons, the Dark Auction or events (the event sack), and others are locked behind quests or specific progression.

For most normal profiles, the easiest way to start building MP is buying cheap accessories from the Auction House and crafting cheap ones from collections. Before you start spending, though, a lot of accessories either can't be bought directly or are worth getting through their intended progression. Look out for these categories.

Quest accessories

SkyBlock hides a surprising number of accessories behind NPCs, questlines and challenges. That includes Melody's quest, the Romero and Juliette questline, the Campfire Trials, and plenty of smaller NPC interactions across the islands.

These matter because throwing more coins at the Auction House won't always get them.

Races and challenges

The Pig's Foot, the Frozen Chicken, and the Cat, Lynx and Cheetah line come from completing their challenges. A lot of these are extremely easy to forget, especially later in the game.

Tip

If your MP seems unusually low for your stage of progression, check whether you've skipped some of these.

Rift

The Rift has its own accessories and accessory upgrades, mainly from the Mirrorverse, though you can craft others. Some need actual Rift progression rather than buying the accessory outside the Rift, so check this category specifically.

Progression accessories

Some accessories improve as you complete objectives. The Book of Progression is probably the easiest example: rather than buying the final version, its rarity rises with your overall progression. Several accessories work similarly, where completing more content improves the accessory or the MP you get from it.

Events

Some accessories are tied to recurring and seasonal content, so depending on when you're reading this, you may not be able to get some of them through their normal method right away.

Accessory bag slots

Eventually you need enough space to hold everything. Here's how to grow your accessory bag:

SourceExtra slots
Redstone CollectionUnlocked naturally as you progress it
Redstone Miner, in the Pigmen's Den4 (extremely easy to miss)
Elizabeth's Accessory Bag account upgradeUp to 12
Jacobus2 per upgrade, with each upgrade more expensive than the last
Accessory Size attribute (Hideonring)Up to 10, if you syphon all 48 shards
  • Elizabeth's upgrades take real-world time, so start them relatively early, even if you don't need the space yet.
  • Jacobus becomes your main coin sink for bag space. After buying 10 slots from Jacobus, you also get the Jacobus Register, which is another accessory.

You don't need every possible slot right away. Just expand your bag when you're getting close to its limit.

Powers

Now that you have MP, you need to do something with it. That's where Maxwell comes in: your selected power decides which combat stats your MP turns into.

  • Several powers are available without a power stone, but most of the more specialized ones are unlocked by bringing Maxwell 9 copies of their power stone.
  • Once you've learned a power, it's permanently unlocked. You don't need another 9 stones to switch back to it.
  • A power doesn't give everyone the same flat stats: its effectiveness scales with your MP. Two players can use the exact same power, and the one with much more MP gets substantially more stats.

There's no single best power. There are powers for every scenario, for example:

  • If you use a Terminator and struggle to reach your Crit Chance target, your accessory setup can make up for it.
  • If your melee setup needs Attack Speed, you can build around that.
  • If you play Mage, you can prioritize Intelligence and Ability Damage.

Asxent thinks Hurtful is overrated. You should be buying Mandraas, a power stone, from the Bazaar for a lot cheaper.

Tuning points

Tuning points take this customization one step further.

  • Every 10 MP gives you 1 tuning point.
  • You can put them into Health, Defense, Speed, Strength, Crit Damage, Crit Chance, Bonus Attack Speed or Intelligence.
  • Use them to fill whatever your setup is missing.
  • Save different tuning setups as templates, so you don't have to redistribute everything every time you swap builds.
  • The tuning points attribute, maxed with 24 Hideonbox shards, gives up to 10 extra tuning points.

Recombobulating

Once you've collected most of the cheap accessories, new ones get expensive. That's when recombobulating matters: higher-rarity accessories give more MP, so a Recombobulator on an accessory also raises its MP.

Don't recombobulate everything at random. What matters is coins per MP. If a new accessory costs 5 million coins and gives 8 MP, and recombobulating another accessory costs about the same but only gives 2 MP, the new accessory is clearly the better buy.

As your account progresses, the cheapest MP gradually shifts:

  1. buying new accessories;
  2. upgrading accessory lines you already have;
  3. recombobulating;
  4. eventually, extremely expensive accessories and upgrades.

This is where the Discord checklist helps: you can see what you're missing and compare your cheapest upgrades instead of buying accessories blindly.

Enrichments

Once an accessory reaches Legendary rarity or higher, you can apply an Enrichment to it.

  • Unlike MP, an Enrichment adds a small amount of one specific stat directly to the accessory.
  • Each one is tiny, but across a large number of eligible accessories they add up.
  • Depending on your setup, you can use them for stats like Magic Find, Crit Chance, Attack Speed or Sea Creature Chance.
  • An Enrichment Swapper lets you change the stat later, so you're not locked into your first choice.

That means recombobulating an Epic accessory to Legendary has two benefits: it raises its MP and makes it eligible for an Enrichment.

Special accessories

A few accessories don't follow the normal rules:

  • Hegemony Artifact: gives double the MP you'd normally expect from its rarity.
  • Abicases: gain extra MP based on the number of contacts you've added to your Abiphone.
  • Dungeon accessories: give double their normal MP while you're inside Dungeons.

Some accessories are worth having for their ability, not just their MP:

  • Personal Compactors automatically compact items.
  • Personal Deletors automatically delete the items you choose.
  • Others give discounts, protection against certain enemies, progression bonuses or very specific utility.

So don't fall into the trap of thinking every accessory is just an MP number.

How much MP should you have?

There's no real number for each stage. Just buy MP as you progress: if you have the money for it, go ahead; otherwise, focus on progressing other parts of the game.

Upcoming accessory bag changes

At the time of the video (September 2026), the accessory bag was due a quality-of-life revamp, and the important word is quality-of-life. The proposed system is much closer to the Museum: accessory families get dedicated places, so it's much easier to see what you own, what you're missing and what can still be upgraded.
